Fire Truck Restoration:
PCHS Museum has a strong partnership with the Town of Florence, Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) Florence, and Central Arizona Central College (CAC) to restore three Fire Trucks in the Museums collection including the 1953 Ford Florence Fire Truck, the 1937 Mack Jr. Fire Truck, and a rare 1942 POW Camp Fire Truck. The trucks go to ADC Florence for restoration under the instruction of CAC. The restoration process returns the trucks close to its original running condition. Inmates learn auto body repair skills and earn a degree from CAC.
In 2018, the 1953 Ford Florence Fire Truck was fully restored. This truck has been featured in local parades, the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerces Memories of Main Car Show, Florence Fire Station 2 Open House, and more events.
The 1937 Mack Jr. is currently at ADC Florence undergoing restoration! Your donations will go directly towards the restoration of this historic truck.
Additionally, PCHS is renovating an existing building on our property into the Town of Florence Historic Fire House to display these historic Fire Trucks and other artifacts relating to the Fire Department.
Be a part of Florences rich history and donate to this exciting ongoing project!
